Well, the Cavs actually won. Even though they are now playing in the Finals, I still think I’ll find it hard to watch due to the officiating and flopping that is sure to take place. NBA has really lost me this year with how the officials and players have acted. Players need to act like professional athletes and less like actors. “Acting” like you got fouled and “acting” like you didn’t foul really needs to stop. What happened to integrity in the NBA?
The Senators came back to make the series 2-1 against the Ducks. Even though Chris Pronger will be suspended for Game 4 after a cheap hit, I think the Ducks will get the win. The game will actually be on NBC tonight! It’s about time they get some tv time. I hope they’ll have the rest of the games on, too.
This weekend was somewhat eventful. Friday night Mark, Allen, Tera, and I hung out and went to the movies. As we were taking Mark home, Allen hit a raccoon. He was kind of freaked out I think but his car didn’t appear to be damaged or anything like that. It was amazing that the raccoon managed to be thrown well into the other lane of the road.
Saturday, I went with Tera to some yard sales and then to the mall in Zanesville. I got a new pair of shorts and a couple shirts. Tera really liked this Notre Dame shirt so she got that and I got a Georgetown shirt since they were 2 for $20. Saturday night we rented “The Return” which turned out to be a terrible movie. The previews project it as a horror movie when really it was just a few suspenseful spots. One of the scary scenes shown on previews wasn’t even in the movie! Normally, renting a horrible movie by mistake would be a complete loss…not this time. The woman checking us out at the counter said that many people have been disappointed with the movie because of the reasons I stated above. Therefore, she said that if we return the movie and didn’t like it, we could get another rental for FREE! Movie Gallery won me over with that.
Yesterday I went to church and then spent some time doing some programming in C#, trying to familiarize myself with it. I waited for Tera to get home from work and we went to my cousin McKenzie’s birthday part. We didn’t stay for too long since it was almost over but it was nice. Tera went to another birthday party after that and I went home and got something to eat. I watched this special about the technology of “Star Wars” being available today. Incredibly interesting, as much of it is very possible if not already a reality. They demonstrated how artificial limbs have evolved to act out more ranges of motion. It’s nearly to the point where you can do anything a real hand can do with an artificial one. Also, they discussed hover crafts being possible with reverse gravity and elements of the planets. When Tera got home we went back to Movie Gallery to pick out another movie. We got “The Illusionist” which we both weren’t sure about but thought it looked good. It turned out to be a great movie with one of the best movie endings I’ve seen in a long time. Of course I won’t spoil it here, but I HIGHLY recommend it!
That was the weekend. This week will be my first week of work without classes for the summer. Yay.
