The past weekend was a lot of fun. Tera and I went to Columbus to celebrate my friend Mark getting into Vet School. It was nice to see some people I haven’t seen in a few months. Probably one of the best parties I’ve ever been, too. And surprisingly, there wasn’t a lot of drama.
Sunday is the Super Bowl. As much as I want to pick the Giants to win, I just can’t. My official prediction: Patriots over the Giants 31-17. I hope it’s closer than that. This is certainly a year when I’m expecting to be entertained by the commercials more than the game. There’s been so much hype about the Patriots being 19-0 that I’ve just accepted that it’s probably going to happen.
Duke has now reached a #3 ranking in the polls. As much as I want to believe they’re that good, I’m not quite sure. I would have them in my top 10 but not top 3. The nice thing right now is knowing that they are at least that good. Unlike last year, each game feels a bit more comfortable.
Tera and I watched one of the creepiest movies that I’ve seen in awhile called “Joshua” last night. It was about a family of 3 that just had a new baby girl. The son, who is about 9 years old, starts making strange things happen in order to basically ruin their lives. It was one of those movies that I don’t know if I would recommend even though I kind of liked it. If you’re in the mood to watch a movie that makes you through up your hands in wonder of what the heck you’re seeing, go for it.
Time to get back to homework.

Although it wasn’t here, I actually did have a post in between early January and now; however, it was made as a page rather than a post. Oh well. Nothing much has been going on. Classes resumed last week and I couldn’t be more hurt. Back to not having enough free time. There was one great positive to come out of last week. I turned 21! Probably one of the last memorable birthdays. It was a pretty good birthday though so I can’t complain too much.
Super Bowl XLII is finally set. After New England defeated San Diego and New York defeated Green Bay, it will be the Patriots vs. Giants. The NY/Green Bay game was painful to watch since it was so cold. I believe the temperature was -2 at game time with the wind chill at -24. It was definitely a game where I was much happier to be sitting inside my warm house on the couch than freezing in the stadium. The Super Bowl will probably be a blowout. Even though the Giants gave the Pats a good game in Week 17, I can’t see them hanging around for this one.
Since classes were canceled for MLK Jr. Day I’m working in CNS for the day. I figured it was an easy way to pick up some extra money. Time to go get some work done.

2007 has come to an end. Looking back on it, I would definitely call 2007 a great year. Classes went well, summer was amazing, and I moved out of Cambridge. New Year’s Eve was uneventful at the apartment. If everyone we wanted to invite would have been on campus it may have been better but oh well. Still, we had a good time.
I had a dentist appointment yesterday that I was incredibly nervous for. Prior to my last appointment I had never had a cavity. I suppose that is one event in 2007 that I don’t want to remember. Even though I didn’t have any toothaches, I had a bad feeling about it. After finally getting my teeth cleaned, Fender came in and reiterated to his assistant that I’ve never had any problems (except the last one) and that I was good for another 6 months. That was a relief.
But the day would soon turn the other direction. Getting out of my car after getting home, I heard a loud hissing sound out of my car’s back left tire. I had managed to get a screw stuck in my tire and had to have it patched. The good news was that it was only $15 to patch. The bad news was that both back tires were in terrible shape and need to be changed sometime in the near future. That will rip about $200 out of my pockets.
Work was been boring for the entire break. My friend, Adam, who I work with has been playing Desktop Tower Defense the entire time. I played it a lot in the beginning of break but I just couldn’t take the disappointment of playing one game for about 30 minutes only to end up losing. Basically, you have to build weapon towers to prevent the bad guys from getting across the desktop. If you play it, you will realize how addicting it can become. I then stumbled upon another game called Flight of the Hamsters that I found to be much more relaxing. You have to fly the furthest distance while getting power ups to bounce you further. Good stuff.
My New Year’s Resolution is to update the site at least once a week even if it’s just to the media section. There’s now something new up so check it out here!
My stomach is starting to grumble so I think it’s lunch time.
