As you hopefully noticed, I did some work making the site look less plain.  I’m pretty satisfied with the results.  The new site definitely seems more easy on the eyes.  Here are my picks for the NFL this week:browns_dunk

Buffalo over San Diego
Chicago over Minnesota
Pittsburgh over Cincinnati
Tennessee over Kansas City
Dallas over St. Louis
Baltimore over Miami
NYG over San Francisco
New Orleans over Carolina
Houston over Detroit
NYJ over Oakland
Green Bay over Indianapolis
Cleveland over Washington
Tampa Bay over Seattle
Denver over New England

Picking Cleveland over Washington might not be the smartest choice but I’m hopeful after the Browns win last Monday over the Giants.  This weekend shouldn’t be too busy.  I have some papers to work on but nothing too drastic.  I just hope this weekend feels like it lasts longer than this past weekend.

It’s been a pretty mellow week.  I worked Monday and Tuesday in CNS while everyone else was enjoying Fall Break.  I still managed to get some decent work done so it wasn’t too bad.  I got some grades back today for Holocaust and World Mythology.  Even though they were decent, I still felt very bitter about them.  I got a B on my Holocaust exam and an A- on my World Mythology paper.  At first glance those grades seem great.  Still, there were people who didn’t work nearly as hard as me that did better.  It took me a minute to try and let it go but I can’t.  Always working so hard and not being able to really show it kills me.  It’s usually been that way but at least I only have another semester and a half left.  I’m still finishing up my picks for Week 7 of the NFL season.  I’ll probably post them up tomorrow.

My picks went 8-5 with only remaining game being MNF.  I’m content with that.  Yesterday was a great day to relax and I needed it desperately.  After church, I spent the afternoon watching football and then following the games online.  Around 6 I stopped at Tera’s and then went to her Grandma’s for her brothers birthday party.  It was fun.  I got dragged into painting Tera’s nails and surprisingly didn’t fail.  Her nails turned out much better than the time she wanted me to dye her hair.  We left her Grandma’s and watched a movie.  Today it’s work from 9-5, pick up Tera’s rings, then probably to Cambridge.  I came in early this morning so I could work on my OS project in the labs and managed to get what I couldn’t get to work for hours Saturday to work in about two minutes.  The day is starting out good, I just hope it continues.  Check out the Media Page to see the saddest safety in the history of football.

Games in BOLD represent correct picks thus far:

New Orleands over Oakland
NYJ over Cinci

Yep, it’s been months and months but here I am.  A lot of stuff has gone down since the last update.  I got engaged, started my senior year at Muskingum, etc.  Fun Fun.  Classes this semester have kept me incredibly busy but I’m hoping to try and maintain some decent updates since most other people do.  This one will have to be kept short, but I do want to post my picks for Week 6 of the NFL season.  I’m going to try and keep my picks on here, might keep me from letting my blog go for a few more months lol.  So here they are:NFL_logo-full

31h1hqb48jl_ss500_.jpgI finally made it out to get a new fan the other night.  It is by far the nicest fan I’ve ever had. It features 4 timer settings, 3 speeds, 3 different types of wind (I don’t really understand that part), and of course it oscillates. Part of me wants the temperature to warm back up so I can find out just how good it really is.

Tera and I have really struck out when it has come to movies recently. The first in our string of failure was the movie I Know Who Killed Me. The plot revolves around a girl who is kidnapped and found, but she then thinks she’s somebody else. I won’t ruin it but it’s one of the worst movies I can remember seeing. I would give it an D. Tera actually didn’t hate it so it may be alright for some people. The next dud we came across was Lars and the Real Girl. The movie focused on the main character, Lars, having some serious mental issues and deciding to call a doll his girlfriend. His brother and sister-in-law then attempt to help him until the rest of the town embraces the issue to make Lars more comfortable. Tera hated this movie while I only didn’t like it. I’d probably give it a C-. The last movie, Michael Clayton, had a lot of promise. It seemed painfully boring and didn’t make much sense. We were both tired at the time and were fighting to stay awake so it is possible the movie may have been better if we weren’t falling asleep. Either way, I’d give it a D because it didn’t pull me in at all. I kept asking myself “I don’t know what the ending is going to be and I really don’t care.” Terrible. We turned it around yesterday though by watching The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep. The “Water Horse” was the Loch Ness Monster. The movie followed a boy who discovered the egg of the baby monster and soon became best friends with the hatched creature. It wasn’t anything spectacular but I’d give it a B.

Not too much else has been going on. Andy returns from China next Tuesday night. I complained to him about the 90 degree weather here but he said temperatures had broken 110 for the past few days there. Crazy heat.

Nothing new has been going on lately. I’ve been sick for the last few weeks but that’s been about it. Hopefully it starts to fade soon because it has really started to get annoying.

Weezer’s new album “The Red Album” came out yesterday. From what I’ve listened to so far I’d have to say it’s one of their better recent albums. Considering the fact three years have gone by with nothing new, anything is going to be better than nothing. It’s different but in a good way.

MMA had it’s network television debut on CBS last Saturday featuring Elite XC. The show felt more like WWE than true MMA. I could go on and on about what I didn’t like about it, but it’s better than nothing. If I had paid money for it rather than watching for free I would have been outraged.

Work has been boring lately. There seems to be nothing to do around here besides sit on the internet. As good as that may sound to some, it’s not!

The past week was busier than I thought it would be. One of the other student workers at CNS had some problems and didn’t make it in for most of the week. That led to the front desk being manned by me for about every morning and parts of the afternoons. Not fun.

Tera celebrated her 21st birthday last week. She had to work on her actual birthday which sucked, but we went up to The Funny Bone in Columbus with Mark on Saturday. We left around 1:30 and went to Easton to walk around. At about 5:15 we went in to eat. The food was pretty good but nothing too amazing. 7 managed to roll around and the first comedian came up. We’re pretty sure he’s there all the time and is the usual opener for The Funny Bone. The next guy, Gary Menke, came on and he was hilarious. Probably the best of the three. He finished up and Gerry Dee took over. He was ok. After the show we headed back to Mark’s place and hung out before coming back Sunday morning.

Weezer has a new album on June 3rd which I am very excited for. The new video is definitely one of my all time favorites already due to the vast amount of viral mockery. If you don’t recognize a lot of the scenes then it probably won’t do much for you; however, if most of it is familiar in some shape or form it will be worth watching. Check it out on the media page.

The most horrid semester I can remember finally came to an end last week.  My grades turned out much better than I thought they would overall.  Some grades were better than I thought they would be, some worse.

African-American Religion:  I managed an A- which was somewhat of a surprise.  Going into the final I thought the highest grade I could get was a B+.  The final was alright but I still expected a B or B+ overall.

Symphonic Winds/Euph Lesson:  Easy A.

Geology:  I got an A and actually enjoyed this class more than any other science course I’ve taken except for maybe Astronomy last year.  The professor was great and the class structure made it easy to keep on task.  Being that this was my last science course I’ll ever have to take, it’s great going out with a good grade.

Computer Graphics:  I really thought I had a chance at a B+ or even an A- but have to settle for a B-.  I was/am disappointed but there’s not much else I can do.  I did great during the semester and probably didn’t study as hard for the final as I should have which is what held me back.  Still, a B- isn’t going to make me complain too much.

Computer Architecture:  I got a B- which made me happy.  This had the worst final exam ever.  Completely insane.  I got lucky though and stayed out of the C range which was my goal.

Algorithms and Data Structures:  I pulled out a shocking B and I really don’t know how.  The final was fine but there some other assignments that I expected terrible grades for.  I guess I did better than I thought because I received a lot of credit for stuff that was “close” to working.  This grade made up for getting the lower grade in Graphics.

And there you have it.  Now that it’s summer again, I’m definitely going to update more than every month.  I’m also going to try to update the Media page more often (which you can check out now).  Time to get back to work.

Apr 12

Summer break is less than a month away and that means an end to my busiest semester of all time.  I don’t have any big summer plans yet.  It’ll probably be the typical 9-5 at CNS like the last few years.  The most important part of break will be the time I have to relax and not be stressed all the time about homework.  I can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel…

Mar 03

I finally have time to relax. Right now I’m at Shawnee State Park in Portsmouth, Ohio hanging out. Tera had to come down here for work and I got to tag along to enjoy a free stay.

Classes are basically halfway over now. As far as I know my grades are pretty good. Shouldn’t be anything below a B or B-. The past few weeks have been insanely busy though. Project after project after lab after exam etc. This week of Spring Break is probably the most needed break I’ve ever had. I was beginning to go pretty crazy.

Since it’s officially March, that means March Madness is just about to kick into full swing. I’m pretty comfortable with where Duke is even though they could be better. I’m hoping they beat North Carolina again because I would think that would lock them in for a #1 seed. Only time will tell.

Time to watch some basketball.
