Resource Systems has been absolutely amazing. I love being able to honestly say I have days where I get up in the morning and cannot wait to go to work. It may sound disgustingly wrong to some people but it’s true. I’m over halfway through my internship/probation and everything is pointing to a full-time position on February 1st.
Since the last update Tera and I have also been working to buy a house. We ended up getting into a minor bidding war over it but won and are hoping to be moving in either at the end of January or early February.
Christmas is tomorrow with the Callihan side of the family. I’m sure that will be an interesting time.

The past few weeks have been pretty hectic. I spent some time trying to prepare for my first week at Resource Systems and before I knew it my first day had arrived. I actually finished my first week (5 days) today. Looking back I don’t see how it could have gone much better. Everyone there is amazing and incredibly supportive. Today was fun as I made a few jaws drop when telling people about the work I was already into. I think I’m coming along much quicker than they expected which is a good thing. I don’t feel like I’ve taken on too much but I feel very busy.
Windows 7 is finally available and I need to get it. The only problem is that there is no machine that I really feel comfortable with installing it on. My tablet is in decent shape but is not quite up to par when it comes to specifications and our desktop is kind of the same way. I would say that it might be time to get a new computer but we just got the 360 and tv so another big purchase is out of the question for now.
Tera and I have been watching a couple of movies on the 360 through Netflix. We watched Flatliners and Prom Night. Both were decent movies but not as good as expected. I had high hopes for Flatliners but it just wasn’t very suspenseful. Prom Night didn’t seem to be to great going in and didn’t do much to make a case for itself as being very good. The Netflix system is nice though and the streaming quality has been impressive.
Time to get some sleep for tomorrow.

I had a pretty amazing weekend. On Saturday, Tera and I met with Jake and his fiancee (can’t remember her name) to see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and play some glow putt. The movie was ok. I didn’t expect much but it was fine for what it was. What really seemed extreme was the amount of trailers shown before the actual movie. There were about 6-7 trailers that took up a little over 20 minutes. I wasn’t happy. Glow putt was more fun. We didn’t keep score but we all did about the same.
Tera and I got back to Cambridge and she said she wanted me to carry something up that was in the trunk of her car. I opened it up to find a new Xbox 360 she bought me for getting my new job. At first I was kind of in shock that she bought it but once it wore off I was extremely excited. Instead of messing with the old TV we decided it was time to finally get a new high def TV. We went to Walmart and got a Vizio which has been amazing so far. The only game I have is Madden 10 so Scott and I have been playing that online.
I stopped by Muskingum today to check in with CNS and see Andy to give him his groomsman gifts. It was nice seeing some people that I haven’t seen in awhile but when it comes to Muskingum as a whole I don’t think I miss it. I thought that I would but I’m happy to be done there.
Have to clean up the apartment from the mess that was the weekend. There are boxes and papers all over the place.

It seems that’s the case. The last group of updates was following Tera getting her new job and now this one is because I finally…FINALLY…got mine. Resource Systems here I come! It took an extremely long (but well worth it) interview process but I’ve finally made it. I’ll be an intern for awhile to make sure everything fits well. As long as everything works out I will get a full time position.
In addition to getting a job, September 19th marked the end of my life (according to my fantastic group of friends) and Tera and I’s wedding. It went great and I’ll have to get pictures posted sometime soon.

I seem to be slacking on updates but I haven’t vanished yet. Tera got a new job as a dental assistant in Marietta (aka the big news) which is awesome. She loves it so far and it will be far superior to working insane hours at Salt Fork.
We saw “Drag Me to Hell” a few nights ago and it was amazing. Easily the best horror movie I can remember seeing recently. It seemed to have a bit of everything. I was skeptical even though the reviews were incredibly positive but it lived up to the hype and more.
The NBA and NHL are each in the finals. I haven’t watched much hockey recently but I’ve still been watching basketball. I’m still picking the Red Wings over the Pens in 6 for the NHL finals. As for the NBA, I’d probably say Lakers in 5 over the Magic. I hope it’s closer than that but I don’t think it’s going to happen that way.
I’ve been doing a ton of photoshopping recently. I’ve had a lot of images turn out extremely good. It’s kept me busy which is something I need. Time to call it a night.
May 24
Not much new has been going on. I’ve been busy getting moved out of New Concord and continuing the job search. That’s been about it.
Today was fun. Scott came down after church and we watched the Indy 500. The race was good even though Marco Andretti (who I wanted to win) didn’t even complete a lap before crashing. Helio Castroneves won by a large margin at the end so it wasn’t a very exciting finish. Overall, it was well worth taking the time to watch it all afternoon.
We went to Seneca Lake after the race to meet up with some of Tera’s family at her mom’s camper. Thunder boomed a couple of times but no rain. There was chicken and hot dogs grilling but I still wasn’t hungry from lunch so I just had a piece of Kennedy’s cake.
Time to sit back watch the rest of the Cavs/Magic game.
May 15
Got up early this morning so that Tera and I could be at church to meet with Pastor Dave at 11. We mostly went over specifics for the actual wedding ceremony. I think we were there about an hour so that wasn’t too bad. The big day is coming up way too fast.
After the meeting Tera went to her mom’s house and I went to my parents to work some on the site and some other things. I managed to get my Hotmail account synced with Outlook which made my day. For as long as I can remember, there was a fee to make it work which I chose not to pay. I checked just for the heck of it tonight and suddenly it was free. It’s sad when things like that make your day.
Tera and I rented the movie Doubt tonight. We went to Movie Gallery with no real idea on what we were going to rent. We both saw it playing on one of the tvs showing trailers and thought it looked good. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great. The ending was kind of a letdown and sudden but I guess that’s how it was intended. The movie may be one of those where I need to watch it once more to appreciate it. It was nominated five Oscars so it has to be amazing, right?
Tera works 8-4 tomorrow so I’ll hopefully start getting some larger things packed and moved. I have to be sure to watch the season finale of The Office that I missed tonight. I already know the big shock but I still have to check it out. I’m sure it will be hilarious.

I managed to keep busy today. Since imaging my server yesterday didn’t go as smoothly as I had hoped, i worked on that most of the day. I purchased a external hard drive which I’ve needed for awhile. After hearing positive reviews, I went with a Western Digital 1TB drive (shown to the right). I was able to move over my existing tablet image as well as successfully image my server and my mom’s computer. So far it’s working great!
In addition to imaging computers, I did some work on this site as well. If you notice over to the right, there is a Twitter sidebar. I figure for the times I don’t update, visiting the site will still give people updates on what I’m up to. I avoided the Twitter fad for awhile but I think it can be useful so I’m giving it a shot.
Not sure how far I’ll get on my list of things to do tomorrow. I need to take my keys back to Physical Plant at Muskingum and return a clock to the bookstore. I hope to either clean or pack stuff here at the apartment in New Concord. Time to continue watching basketball and relax.
May 11
It’s been awhile. Ok, it’s been looooooong time. Still, not too much has changed. The sun still rises in the east and sets in the west. The grass is still green. I’m an Alum of Muskingum College. Wait…that’s a big change! As of Saturday afternoon, I became part of the “Long Magenta Line.” Luckily I was able to do it in four years rather than five or more like some people who graduated. The commencement ceremony only lasted about two hours which was far short of the suspected three and a half. Following the ceremony it was back to Cambridge to visit with family and friends and eat. It was a good time.
Being done with college means that without a job I have nothing to do. I’m going to miss the summer days at CNS but my days there are over. It’s time to move to something new. Hopefully, one prospect in particular works out but I don’t feel as though I should mention it here.
Perhaps the best part of being done with classes is that I can now enjoy the NHL and NBA Playoffs with a clear mind. The NHL Playoffs have been great while the NBA Playoffs have been somewhat annoying as a result of appalling officiating. With that said, I can’t say I haven’t been entertained.
I plan to keep this up to date a bit more now but I don’t know how that will turn out. I’ve said that many times before and failed to deliver. The only promise I can make is that I will try.
